Here's my lad Connor after we got back in from ferreting a few years back:

He's been coming out since he was four, loves it! On the first trip out, I made him sit still while we were netting up, and give him a dispatched ferreted rabbit to 'look after'. I was netting up, and heard a little voice behind me saying "Boing, boing, boing!" I turned round to see what he was doing and he was holding it up by the ears making it hop up and down! :clapper: I'd been worried up until that point that the sight of a dead rabbit might have upset him...:laugh::thumbs:

my lads 19 now and mad for it its all he goes on about. it has been our saving grace over the teenage years as we have had some rows but when all comes to all we still go out with the dogs and ferrets and we are back to normal again. however there was one memorable massive argument when out ferreting when i left him to walk the 20 miles home. it was either that or kill him i havent got the best of tempers.

after an hour or so i went back and picked him up.

kids grow too quickly make the most of the easy years lads and lasses.

i can remember the last time my lad held my hand he was 11 he let go to go out and grow up but he doesnt realise i didnt let go of his hand and i never will

Fair play to him ! - my lad first went out ferretting with me when he was 3 , hes now 14 and has lamped with me , coursed with me , and caught all quarry with me , even seen a good dog killed out lamping , nothing fazes him out with the dogs , he has even been to the Waterloo Cup with me . He is only interested in his dogs , playing rugby and boxing , and i wouldnt have it any other way .

I'd say in the long run once you eduacte your daughter properly (instead of being fed bullsh#t) your ex will be made to look the prick, and you and your girl will be able to get out and enjoy it. good luck mate.
