Ratting

Farmer called to say they had moved a few sheds today and could i come over with a team of dogs to mop up any rats in the shit left behind.No-one available so me and my lad went over with the dogs ,two pats and a lurcher to see what we could do .The shit is only a foot deep under the free range sheds and the farmer moves it into a heap with a loader allowing the dogs to take any rats that flee .First shed held a god amount with the dogs ,who i must admit are a bit over weight this summer ,doing a good job of control. Finished this shed in under an hour with 138 rats .The next shed showed no signs of rodents at all ,the usual holes were missing but the farmer asked if i could use his gun whlie he turned it over as the dogs were by now tired and a bit sore .Managed another 8 rats from two more sheds.
