borntohunt 19
have used new batterys in both the collars and the box, still giving false readings Quote Link to post
Guest Frank
I got a couple of rong readings yesterday, but i have the MK 3. It said 4 ft, but the ferret each time was down 2 ft Got told that its the soil diffrences. Just a quetion to you all, who have had the MK 1, did that do the same? As i was told the MK 1 played up when soil varied. Frank. Quote Link to post
blakfut 0
I had the same problem 2yrs ago with the mk2, sent it back and got a full refund.I was led to believe that was a major problem and why they brought the mk3 out so soon after. I have just purchased a mk3 and recently read on another forum that the same problems are arising. Bob Quote Link to post

Frank. the only problem ive had with my mark 1 Frank was when i ferreted the farmers back garden which was full of old iron, kept getting false signals but apart from that its been mustard Edited December 2, 2006 by Magwitch Quote Link to post
borntohunt 19
had a mrk 1 a few years ago, problem with them was you couldnt get a good reading beside anythign metal, and it was a real pain when ferreting hedgerows. tho i did find pin pointing with the mrk 1 that bit more reliable than i have been with the mk2 Edited December 2, 2006 by irishlurcher Quote Link to post
blakfut 0
The only problem I have had with the mk1 is interference from electric fencing, no problem yet with the mk3. Bob Quote Link to post
Guest JDF
overhead electicity lines played havoc with mine, false readings or wouldn't work at all. Quote Link to post
bullsmilk 2
my mk2 is all ok Quote Link to post
blakfut 0
my mk2 is all ok I think you may be one of the few lucky ones if you have no problems with it. But now it's been taken off the market if anything goes wrong will deben repair or replace parts? Bob Quote Link to post
Guest Frank
I got told the same thing that the MK 1 was bad near electric fences and metal. They all seem to have their faults. Youd think, by updating the MK 3, that they would over come these problems Mine is going back, if it keeps giving me false readings, i cant afford paying hard earned cash, on something not working right. Will see. Frank. Quote Link to post
