Ron Weasley 83
This morning, on the way to follow up on a rat job that I have on-going I called in at a small piece of permission I have. This is the same place (and the same rat job for that matter) that I called into last Tuesday where I had a few problems with my R10. I haven't had a chance to spend any time paper punching with it since then, so I just took the Ultra for a chance to bag it's first bunny. The majority of the rabbits in this permission are on the owner's back garden, so that's where I headed. As I quietly crept around the paddock to the garden, I managed to spook one bunny in a position that I hadn't expected to see one. It bolted through the hedge into the garden, making a hell of a lot of noise as it went, which in turn spooked two roe deer that were feeding on the fella's plants (!) and they gave it the legs with all the subtlety of a Chinook helicopter. At that, I had a wander around the rest of the permission, but there was no sign. After a few minutes to have a coffee, I had another look - and eager to get off the property before the owner got out of bed (he likes to talk!) I decided to call it a day and move on to the rat job. As I was walking back to my van, I noticed a woody in a large tree at the side of the driveway. I took the long route around one of the sheds, and resting on the corner of the building, sent the .177 FX towards it's target. Took the woody cleanly with a shot from underneath the skull, and it spiralled down to earth without so much as a twitch. After that, got off to my rat job. I shot three here last week, but also convinced the customer that we'd need to use rodenticide to get on top of her infestation- so as a consequence, the infestation is almost clear, and I didn't get any more shooting! 2 Quote Link to post
