Keep it inside. You can better see and anticipate on her behaviour and she on yours and that of the family. Pups kind of suck but the biting and peeing will stop if you put pretty constant work in it. But I guess it is a matter of taste and possibility too...I keep mine as close to me as possible but my dogs are calm and sweet kind of and I don't have a kid or woman in the house to reckon with. My older bitch responds to a whisper or a gesture and the pup is picking that up with time. I do have to put up with the pup damaging things but the house is pup proof after 6 months.

Any dog that shows agresion to a child is dead at my house. Is a dogs life as valuable as a scar or worse on a child. If it is a wee pup that is different but as a older pup it is gone.

wow that's a bit harsh aint it, the way I read it you'd PTS your dog for aggression? or when you mention the aggression bit are you talking about a bite or savaged or just a growl?

my toy yorkie is the worst for growling at strangers, but never his close family, because he knows that he's below the kids and us in the house hold pack, if he or any of my dogs show any kind of aggression towards a member of my family he gets a very firm NO and is sent outside alone away from the 'pack' this is the worst for him and any other dog that misbehaves in my house,

Barrel, when your dog shows any kind of aggression, try giving it a time out after a firm NO, or have a sharp shock for them, like banging 2 pan lids together then saying NO right away, if she's smart she'll soon get the message :D

as for an older dog peeing in the house I wouldn't get rid, I'd try to find out what the problem was, it might be an upset or medical problem, if none of these I'd go straight back to basics, (taking the dog outside every hour and lots of praise/treat when they have done thier poo/wee), I'd try everything possible before I got rid of any of my dogs.

My whippet pup is outside in a wooden shed. She has a straw bed and i will be getting a heat lamp soon, but she seems happy and has never howled or kept me a wake, since she came here last sunday. :)

She was born outside and thats how she was brought up and seems very healthy for it. ;)

Mine are all outside.........they have good coats and I find they form a better bond and seem easier to train as I am the only one that ever gos to the kennel........I think its a good idea not to let every tom, dick & harry play with your dogs.

I know one gun dog trainer that wont let anybody go near his dogs, and to say they are well trained is an understatement!

My dogs are both inside and out, although I prefer them outside most of the time. The aggression issue is tricky, is the pup play biting or really being aggressive? If its playing i'd tell it no and reprimand it, if it's serious then I agree with rocks, I would never risk getting one of my kids bitten

Have a look at what the Alpha dog in a wild pack will do to an agressive youngster, its all about the pack matey and your dog knowing its place within that pack........not trying to sound macho, but next time it shows agression......take no prisoners.

It works

Must add........thats not how you train a dog, its just how you put a stop to agression towards other pack members.
