when i study this, i see BASC is good for put money back to sport & send many letter from BASC MP to good cause & get message about hunt for us & our wishes, to gevernment who think any persons with rifle is a crazy fool . C.A also very good, but i choose BASC as is very strong members & you money go to fight for you right here in Uk.

It doesn't matter where you live you can still be a member of SACS and if you are registered on here it is only £22 a year.

i used to be with the BASC but price rises and the fact that reading the small print they both offer the same they both work for the sport they both do what they say they will apart from the fact BASC charges 40 quid more i more thing you need to ask your self though is with all the bad press the BASC have had lately (to much to go into ) why are so many big shooting names leaving the BASC and going to NGO,CA,and a few others you have to ask your self are they working for the shooting man now or collecting funds for more communication centre's

 

I left BASC and am now with the CA.

I made a very pratical decision NOT to join BASC as they make me sick with there very anti-lurcher stance and "let us make a certificate and oversee everything" attitude.

I percive them to have this "we know best" persona and I cant stand that.

Fieldsports isnt just about shooting stuff (and yes, I do shoot) and the CA covers you for all legal field sport activitys.

I'm no fan of either, although I am member of the BASC, but I have to admit their attitude over the last couple of years is cause for concern to me.

 

They seem to be losing track of the Grass roots and what they are meant to be doing, my perception is heading along the lines of the NRA, bunch of old farts more concerned about their own jobs and power.

hi im going to change to the ca this year as it is cheeper and in the present climate we all have to tighten those purse strings one thing i will note is check with the owner of your permission as i do know that some landowners will only except basc dont know why as long as your insured does it matter

I was with BASC for years, until i started ferreting - check the small print, I'm sure they don't cover you while ferreting.

 

Opted for CA in the end.
