bitch in heat

Recommended Posts

my bitch has come into heat again, she has not long been over her last phantom pregnancy, it took about four months from her first bleeding to come back to normal. if she has one as bad again she will be usless for half the season. should i think about getting her spaid or will it afect her drive and performance etc. cheers.

shes two and a half. she is a decent lamping dog when fit and very clever and obedient. i was wanting to line her with a saluki whippet greyhound in time but if shes getting bad phantoms every six month that last four month there will be hardly time to work her.

Having a litter will absolutely NOT stop her having phantoms, thats totally untrue, it could well make her worse. The ONLY thing to stop phantoms is to have her spayed. If you dont intend breeding its the permanent solution, and the best one, and no, it wont make the slightest difference to her working, except you will be able to take her out whenever you choose!

You could end up with the same syndrome in any pups you bred out of her.
