I have a couple of fen types, they have been brought on as you would a 'normal lurcher' and they do well around the 'doors' working alone, together or with a terrier or mates dogs on moors bolting rabbits, general mooching etc, then you have the option to take them to the land they bred for as well , truth is they ain't everyones taste in dog but they far from one dimensional,

never owned a fen bred dog myself but my mate has a pup with this sort of breeding the same age as our pups bred for up here so itl be interesting to compare the differences next season. My ideal dog is one that excels on the ground its bred for, but could be taken on other types of land and put up a decent enough show

In my opinon a fen dog is a dog that can never live up to its name........ it gets better the longer it is dead....... It needs at least 5 square miles of an uninterupted view of the land its going to run...... The hare its going to chase needs to be at least 7 miles from any given obstacle that might aid its escape....... The dog needs 600 yards to get on terms with said quarry....... Does nothing more than blocking tactics from said 7 mile away clump of grass.......... Even if it jacks, it has a list of excuses for future pup sales at the ready...... even if it gets beat it technically didn't if no money was exchanged.......
