shepp 2,285
I think longdog is a very old and useful term, was around when my nan was a kid so it is at least years old. Quote Link to post
Ideation 8,216
Blimey i didnt mean to cause a war when i asked, what is a tumbler Denise This aint a war go and ask what a MINSHAW is Well, go on then, what is it??? to me youv got pure breds and the humble LURCHER. not long dogs not whirrers not tumblers nothing inbetween. the dog of choice of the poacher the gamekeeper, gypsie,Hare courser, farmer, ferreter, deer rustler, terreir mans dog, busher, beater, for the first time youngster, weekday worker or reteired moocher, and sadlie the show and racing fanatic LONG LIVE THE LURCHER! ! versatile and hard working but still always a LURCHER. I'd keep the long dog - a cross bred running dog with only sight hound breeds in it. As opposed to a lurcher which contains non-sight hound breed. i know what a lond dog is mate. youv read to many plummer books. a lurcher is a lurcher. Yes mate i've read too many plummer books. . . . . that's right I forget that your in charge. Quote Link to post

Works well enough. I'll be f****d if I know why tumbler she just a lurcher in my eyes, or as breeder likes to call them a stealth poachers dog of old.:) Quote Link to post
