cutting your dogs toe nails

I think, to a certain extent, it depends on the individual dog.

 

The kelpie in my avatar has small, tight, round feet and after trimming his nails a couple of times as a pup, I've not needed to do them now for over ten years but I've had some dogs which needed regular trims.

I hear ya tb25. concrete or cement will keep the nails down to a good level. Concrete kennel floors will do the same. As long as you brush it while it's still wet. :thumbs:

 

I didn't know about the starting the cutting early to keep the quick from growing out. That'll be useful next time threw.

for one of mine its a must and i clip them every 2 /3 weeks as they grow like fook :blink:

 

the other twos claws always seem to be ok from just road walking.

didrent dogs need diffrent atention:thumbs:.

never clipped any of the dogs iv had over the years.

all different crosses too.

plenty of road walking keeps there nails short and also keeps there pads nice and firm :thumbs:

instead of clipping or trimming your dogs nails try walk it every day,twice if possible on the road for an hour-hour n a half a time,imo its a more healthier way of keeping the nails short

the back gardens a patio and with mile up the road never clipped the dogs nails.
