chimp 299
as in decoying? if so a couple of your problem is getting a cross a field if you cant drive to the hide , plus you wont be able to pick up winged or belly up birds which in turn means you will be shooting with a mate two in a hide , dangerous at the best of times but having a chair for a gun to get caught on etc.. in my eyes over rough ground it is a accident waiting to happen. maybe have a word with the airgun section , im sure they would take you out and maybe shoot from farm building etc.. beechris 0
Hi Davidh Are you able to sit on a normal chair? And Where in kent are you? Quote Link to post
chimp 299
apart from the obvious saftey issues this also may have insurance implications. yes they do cater for chairs at some clay grounds but your not in a hide or having to pick up birds etc.. if someone is willing to take you out and show you what is involved that is great and you will have a great day for sure if you do go out please let us know how you got on and how you got around certain aspects of it , i for one would be intrested atb Quote Link to post

I could sit in a normal chair but might have a slight problem with taking shots going over my head. I live in Wrotham nr sevenoaks. easy to overcome with your positioning with a good wind on your back, can get them coming in in front of you,and crossing left to right/right left, what ever you prefer as well although the fleeing birds after a shot can scatter just be one of those shots not for you if this is the case, jmo Quote Link to post
Lab 10,979
Build a big enough hide and buy a quad if you are serious. Do you have a dog that can retrieve shot birds? Quote Link to post
Davidh 5
Build a big enough hide and buy a quad if you are serious. Do you have a dog that can retrieve shot birds? If I could afford it I would buy a quad bike....for that matter if I had the money I would buy my own land and modify it to suite my needs. I can get the services of a dog for the purpose of picking up shot birds. Quote Link to post
mj robson 8
Pic 1 Pic 2 I get a french shooter over for a trip every year with his pals, he shoots on his own and gets good bags of pigeons from his wheelchair. They come during the 3rd week of August so I can drive on the stubbles to drop him off at his spot. I just find nice flat place for his chair and build the hide around him. He shoots one handed with a Benelli auto and 28g cartridges. Cheers, Mark. Quote Link to post
irishnut 297
the only thing holding you back is yourself, i've limited use of my left arm(ie very fecking little use) but i shoot single handed both rifle and shotgun, i also do a lot of terrier work(all to ground). when you try the pigeon shooting and love it, you'll start thinking of ways to adapt yourself and gear to suit the style you have. i would recomend getting a quad, but until you can afford it i'd get the loan of the dog you said about and give it a go. good luck Quote Link to post
