Money comes and money goes. Couldn't put a price on an exceptional worker.   FTB

cant see why anyone could give their best worker any price tag,ok so heard of people falling on hard times, but if it was me in that situation my dogs would then become an asset to use to my advantage

money cant buy you happiness, but the pleasure you get from watching a good dog do its job well is priceless. When I come home with a good bag and my dogs done me proud I feel on cloud nine. Every dog

Couldn't and wouldn't do it for any amount. After years of hard work getting a dog to the level you want it then sell it is alien to me. My dogs do all i ask of them and in return i shall be completeley loyal to them.

takes time and effort to find, bond with and train that dog, finding the right one especially in lurchers isnt an easy task,

id sell a dog, even a good one if it wasnt right for me and/or i didnt have the work for it.

but it would be sold at or near cost to the right man (or woman), aint got no interest in dealing with those kind of people with no value on anything, more money than sense and who just want to buy the finished product because its easier.

I would never sell one of my dogs, IF I had some major problem that meant I had to rehome my dogs they would go for free to friends. A permanent working home where a dog would get grafted, fed and a warm kennel is far more important to me, money is the ruination of working dogs.........

It's the same in all lines of work, I play irish music and you get people who think that buying the most expensive instrument will make them a good player when what it boils down to is putting the hours in. I'll admit I'm new to the lurcher game, I've long been a fan, and been outr a few times, so when i got my own house, I got a couple of pups from working stock. I don't want shortcuts, i want something I can be proud of, to think 'I did that!'. I come on this site because if i have any problems or worries I know I'll get good advice (sometimes!). That's something money can't buy.

Every dog is a unique individual so if you sold it you may never see another dog like that again. And if you had a dog you reared from a pup which was very closely bonded with you, theres no money in the world could make it work the same way for anyone else

Well said Nora!

I have a dog here that I would never part with. Even if someone offered me €1,000,000 I wouldn't take it. I'd fight to the death to keep him, and that's a fact.

Is it because hes a good worker? To me he is and does everything I want, but it is more to do with after all these years, he is like my brother.

Yea, its afucking ridiculous question, from someone who obviously doesnt give a shit about his!! :wallbash::wallbash:

i put the question up as i was offered what i consider good money for my dog.i give enough of a shit to refuse

I think this is an excuse. You may have been offered a sum of money for your dog, and you were testing the water to see what other lurcher men would do. Now you have seen the outcome of it, and that alltho we can be twats for most of the times on here, we do have morals and standards.... You realized that you were being an arsehole by all the real lurchermen on here, who love and cherish a proper worker... Or maybe you just wanted to become a dog peddlaR...
