ROB.BOB 21
my SGC came through the other day so now i can finaly have a go at the crows that are harassing the place, and i wondered... do crows come into pigeon decoys, especially if there are lots of them? Quote Link to post
masmiffy 82
Hi mate. Crows wont decoy to pigeon decoys but they may be less spooked! Go get yourself 4 crow decoys and a call def the best way. Have had good bags with mine. After you shoot a few peg them out as well ( have put some out with the wings 'open' think it works on occasions!) You can also put a rabbit in amongst the 4 deeks looks then as if they are feeding! Just make sure your hide and clothing, gloves and a face veil, is spot on tho cos they are much easier to spook than pigeons! Quote Link to post
peeps_76 17
the more crows decoys you have the better. when we started we only had a few but used pigeons to add to the numbers and replaced them with shot crows when we got a few. freeze some if you are short of deecoys. there not the best but do work if your stuck. keep very well hidden as already stated! regards P Quote Link to post
theinvisiblescarecrow 0
I've not had a crow come down to a Pigeon decoy set up but have seen them on occasions fairly close by. I allways add a crow decoy or two to the pattern. Normally on the outer fringe to act as a distance marker & confidance booster. Quote Link to post
clint 45
if want crow, go to buy old black cloth from charity shop, tear up into strip 15cm x 300 cm & throw pice of cloth in bush & on floor, crow will come. When get crow use dead bird also as decoy. use call aslo for good result. http://www.uttings.co.uk/Product/660/103804/acme-259-crow-and-rook-call-cw6720/ Edited August 5, 2010 by clint Quote Link to post
