Groach 7
Well after getting my variation back earlier in the week i spent a few days ringing around shops to see who had what in stock and who could get me what at what price. Anyway today was the day i was to strike and ended up buying a gun from one shop and a scope from another. I left home at 10 for the 1 hour trip up to Northalerton shooting supplies as they had the gun i was after in stock. Its a stainless synthetic tikka t3 in 6.5x55 and was picked up at a very reasonable price and was on the one hour drive home. I was at home got a quick drink and was off to York guns to pick up a second hand S&B hungarian in 8x56 along with all the other bits like sling, slip, ammo and cleaning stuff . They fitted it to the rifle as i had brought it with me and even bore sighted it in for me. I will be out tomorrow to zero it properly. Anyway im happy as a dog with to dicks and love it. I have got it and it will be ready for my stalking trip to scotland next saturday :D George Quote Link to post

Treacle Trackpad 6
Nice one George, you made the right decision there . Watch out for those Norma BTs, quite explosive. You'll be reloading next Quote Link to post
Yokel Matt 918
Good caliber and good scope - obviously a man of excellent taste Break that barrel in gently and let it cool inbetween shots patching it for the first dozen or so. Remember its a 'cold bore' zero you want. Good luck with your trip Quote Link to post
Groach 7
Nice one George, you made the right decision there . Watch out for those Norma BTs, quite explosive. You'll be reloading next the idea of reloading is a scary one now although i think i am going to have to start sooner rather than later with the cost of the ammo Good caliber and good scope - obviously a man of excellent taste Break that barrel in gently and let it cool inbetween shots patching it for the first dozen or so. Remember its a 'cold bore' zero you want. Good luck with your trip Yep as you say cold (and clean) zero is what im after as thats how it'll be when i shoot it. Unfortunately the trip has been nocked back so im not heading up until monday now due to a overlapping booking of the accommodation on the estate. I'm just glad it is free so it could be nocked back.
