They are nice pups and are nice types but the sire is way to young to have had a litter off it anit even had a real season yet at 16 months it wouldnt of even been a near a year old last season, So what warrents him as worthly of take a litter of him,

Not what id say as ideal anyway IMHO

yes mate i kepted a red merle dog back for myself i

sold the bitch on monday night so just the srong dog to go now im in no rush, going to get him jabbed next week ,

Very nice mate,

One of the things I like most about breeding a litter is that I get to see the characters develop and in the case of my bitch "silk" I got to see her go from a hopeful to a great worker. I say this because my brother bred her and I picked her the minute I layed eyes on her. Theres no greater feeling then knowing I had a hand in her sucsess. Good look with your red merl mate. Hope it goes with out a hitch.

Oh, by the way the first pup in the prevous pic's is a dog but he's already been reserved, they've called him "BUZZ" and he's the bigest in the litter.

Everybody's entitled to there own oppinion about the right age to breed a dog and no, your right it is quite early to take a litter off him but my bitch was the perfect age and as I know where and what lines the sire is from it made sence to me to use a dog that would be around me for the rest of his life. These are my dogs and I would like to breed a family of working lurchers around them. I used to keep racing pigeons and the key to my sucsess was knowing my lines and what to look for in selecting the right ones to keep. If I intend to be sucsessful with my dog's I need to learn my lines and this was where I decided to start from. The one thing I proved with my birds was that a good racer doesn't always make a good breeder and vice vercer. So why not select a dog and bitch that have both come from working stock and let mother nature give me a lesson. IMHO the road ahead is a long one but i've just brougth some new boots ATB and keep hunting

i have sold the dog pup tonight so thats them all gone ,out of the 9 pups i had 5 to sell 3 went to mates for free the 5 lads them bought pups all seemed like good genuine lads so i am happy it all went well ,in all it cost £55 to worm and flea them plus

2 sacks of redmills and a couple of boxes of weetabix ,i spent another £50 advertising them in local trader and cmw did not sell any in either of them !! ,to be honest i only put the price on them to keep the peddlers and dick heads away ,i think pups get a better chance of a good home if a decent price is paid .all the best with your litter mate regards glen

well done mate,

Now what you gona do with all that spar time. I'd start ploting the schooling of ya red merl. something I do is register on the Kennel clubs good citizenship scheam, both my dogs have achived the silver awared and "BEAU" the sire to the pups will be trying for his gold starting october. I belive it's a must to socialise your dog's and this has a dobble wamy cus it gets the pup to be able to consentrate on you while there is other dog about barking and runing around. belive me it can make all the differance to the dogs training if your dog learns to concentrate from a young age. Anyway atb aand thanks for the advice about where to advertise.
