new kits....

got my we jill back of my mate couple of days ago, when he had her he put his hob over her and she had about 6 kits but killed and ate them,he put the hob in with her for another few days then i took her back again!! When i went out to feed her tonight i heard a few squeeks coming from her bed, so i just fed and left her alone, dont know how many there is but theres kits in there alrite.. would like some advice as ive never bred ferrets myself!!! thanks tommy.c :thumbs:

they will start comming out of the nest at 4 weeks mate but i handle my kits from 3 weeks just leave your jill 2 it just make sure she gets plenty of food and she will do the rest :thumbs:

cheers mate, got her a load of chicken wings,think ill give her plenty of them and just leave her to it!!

let me get this right, u bred u jill this year and she ate the babys? then right away u bred her again?

did you read my first post? when i got her "back" she had the kits, and now shes back in her own hutch she seems to be doing fine! went out to feed her tonight again and the kits are getting louder with there squeeks, so i think shes doing well this time!!!

hello tommy if you trust your jill handle them from day one all the better in the long run. and to check for any dead ones.

 

 

But if she's already eaten one litter i'd maybe not trust her so much and just leave her to it.

Aye mate - if shes killed one lot i'd just give her a bit of space for a few days and when she's settled in to being mum have a wee look. How long since she had em? Best of luck with them anyway.

thanks for all the advice folks, i think ill just leave her to it shes eating more food so im giving her more!!! im hopeing she does well as shes getting on a bit now and i would like to keep a we jill from her, and dont worry i will have no problem finding the rest of them good working homes.. :thumbs: (tommy.c)
