bullmastiff 615
Just went out into the garden for a fag and noticed Roo was curled in a ball shivering, I call he's name and he stood up and tried walking to me but was really unsteady on his feet, as I touched him he jumped and twitched about as if I was electrocuting him. Rushed him the the vets and they said poison straight away, so going to try to get him to vomit it up and get him sedated and on a drip. I just hope I got him there in time? Quote Link to post

poacher3161 1,766
Fekin hell bad news is that hope he recovers a mates lurcher some years back managed to get in his gardening shed and tucked into some slug pellets and was rushed to the vets and luckily enough got him on a drip and saved his life to no ill affect only problem the dog was addicted to slug pellets even to the point of chewing an hole in the shed door the slug pellets were stored in even though he had binned them the dog could still smell they had been their.Hope every thing turns out o.k.atb dell Quote Link to post
lurchergrrl 1,441
Hoping everything turns out ok for Roo BM ... b@stard slug pellets, can't think why anyone would use them. Horrible things. Beer traps do the job just as well with a lot less danger to animals. Quote Link to post
blackdug 90
have you an apple tree in your garden as last year i had similar issue with a dog ,,turned out it was the young apples she was eating off the ground,,,all the best anyway Quote Link to post
Daveo 61
Jesus, hope he's ok mate. He must have eaten a shed load to make a big dog like that go badly Quote Link to post
bullmastiff 615
Jesus, hope he's ok mate. He must have eaten a shed load to make a big dog like that go badly He's eaten about 1/4-1/2 a pint of it. We found the pot next door. he's chewed through the pot to get at them, so I don't know if he's going to survive this.... Just reading up on it, apparently a dog can die within 4 hours of ingestion and theirs no known cure. All the vet can do is treat the symptoms (shaking with sedatives, dehydration with IV drips etc.) Life just f*****g gets worse, lose my son, now might lose my dog as well.
