I like ferreting but its time to get a dog to help me out and i would like to try lamping to whats best for a first time lurcher

Get yourself a lurcher out of two working parents preferably two that specialise in lamping and ferreting rabbits part of the battle is already won then you will be spoilt for choice some of the litters thats on here.atb dell

i prefer collie greyhound bred for all round work,however iwould like to try some whippet in the mix,the main thing is to put loads of time in training your pup whateever the mix and the dog will repay you.

get your self a pup and but your own stamp on the dog if it was just for ferreting i would say a beddy x for both jobs ,i would get somthing a bit bigger for all round work,deerhound,collie,bull,weaton,all these make good lurcher mixers so goodluck ,hope you get the right dog for you...atb...dh

pick pup from workers and remember dogs that do well on the type of ground you aregoing to be hunting over

Something on them lines and you will be on the right track and dont be put of getting a pup that all them breeds are in its make up you have mentioned.

i have a collie whippet and she is great on rabbits squirrel rat and even moggy, she is only 19 inch tts so a little pocket rocket, i suppose though it depends on the quarry your wanting to what dog to get.
