Berkutchi 0
:welcomeani: How trainable are they? I mean, how do you stop them from taking dogs, cats, lambs, calves etc? Jane Hi thanks for the replys , They are difficulct not a first BoP!,But at a young age i habitated them to my dogs and sheep/horses and the household white cat!.I both had them from 4-6weeks old so still in the downey stage and at this age my dogs would sniff them in my house while i was rearing them and let the dogs scavenge bits of food, they was in constant sight of the dogs and learned to ignore them as if they are part of the household and would be in constant sight of people and the TV! It is the same with falconers that ferret rabbits for their hawks, whilst in training the hawks are kept in constant sight of white/albino ferrets in their hutches and learn to ignore them whilst hawking bolted rabbits. I also have Scotish+Irish Peregrines that i also breed and did hunt with. For some good pics look at this link www.oook.cz/events/opocno06/ ,realy good pics of Goldens taking hares and roe deer and other forms of falconry. Guest Jane Russell
Thanks. I'm glad to know that they are trainable as my JRT (5 months) was swooped on the other weekend by a BoP -- must say, I thought it was a harris but I'm not very good on identifying birds; especially when under attack!!!
