chimp 299
no the dog jacked and run off barking, not saying the dog wasnt 'brave' getting in there and distracting the bull but thats all it was . i think we are forgetting that dog was apparantly a stray so probably not bred to be a game dog. brave yes .. game no this is only my opinion and what i would expect from a game dog, a game dog should have a do or die attitude
wetdogsmell 99
it was game to the point that it turned its head and run off , after that it was a pure jacker. correct me if im wrong , if that was a cur in any decent dog mans kennel who expected a 'game dog' that would of been pts. i think it should be seen as it was intended ' a brave little dog that destracted the bull' Not really my department you see(although i am learning on here).....so what would it have to do then to become a "game" dog....? I'd have thought if it kept on going it would be inevitable that it would be killed thats what i would have to do, better to die a hero than live a coward So if that was your dog WDS you would rather it held on and died rather than come of a "1 tonne beast"...? i'd be happy with the dog having the balls to get in there but i would'nt class the dog as game, heres a description of gameness i heard "GAMENESS MEANS THAT NEITHER FATIGUE NOR PAIN WILL CAUSE THE FIGHTER TO LOSE HIS ENTHUSIASM FOR FIGHTING CONTACT"

Are we talking about a "pig" now because there is not 1 dog in the world that could hold that bull down so you could go and finish it off..........FACT!!! Some of the clips i have watched on here with pig hunts there are 3/4 dogs struggling to hold it down and thats a 100 pound pig......... regarding the boar ,now are you sure of that , are you 100% sure ? And thats where it would become a stupid dog in my eyes.
Bosun11 537
Chimp, like I said in a previous post, I used the word game as an everyday, general sort of word, do you purests belive your the only ones who can use it? It was internet banter, chat, call it what you will, just being descriptive. Belive me, I know what a Game Dog is, in the truest sense of the word. But please don't compare a Spanish fighting bull to that one after the floods, or that boar in the pic you put up, like the difference between that plucky ebt and the 'genuine article', neither are in the same league! chimp 299
remember that dog in the vid is a stray , nothing more. ok what about a 500lb stag in rut ? that would kill dogs for fun. they can and have been taken single handed this is why there is so much crap being bred from , what people think is a game dog is nothing more then a jacker. ok now im no expert on this and im throwing this out there , fighting dogs .... would a dog that stoped halfway thru a fight and run around yapping be seen as a brave dog , game dog or a jacker. im not talking about the size of the game and no way would i ever even want to move in on a bull, but if you had a game dog it would never come of it. it's only a debate so keep it friendly and we are only discussing the words 'game' 'brave' and 'jacker' that dog jacked

neil cooney 10,416
IMO that dog looks like he has done that before and does it well. That's why he's still alive. When he was having it all his own way he looked game but as soon as things went against him he got out of there ASAP. One thing about gameness is that a dog/gamecock/horse/man or wild animal usually has to be on the loosing end of what ever the competition may be before their gameness (if any) becomes evident. We can all look good when winning. Just as well that dog knew when to quit as there wasn't one man there going to help him.
