Keep your eyes on the stubble fields, will be plenty of foxes in there, due to the amount of mice, voles, rats etc: feeding on all the seed left behind after cutting, foxes know there is plenty grub to be had in the stubble. I will leave the easy ones for you dave , you will need the practice, i will call you can shoot The top picture is that rascal at roslin, that kept giving me the slip, well he didnt do it this time, i was sneakier than him, he was in the field on the right that looks down to the glen, could make him out a long way off as the silage was freshly cut !!! i knew if i called him he would turn and head straight for the wooded glen,So i fired a shot over the top of him, knowing there would be a loud crack echoing back from the glen, i was hoping he would run up towards me after getting a fright.... he did stupid TWAT, there was no need for the light as the moon was high and could see him no problem against the pale yellow field, BING BANG BOSH 1 dead fox. Jim who was with me sat in amazement saying i was an EFN nutter as he thought it wouldnt work, an old deer stalking trick if you have a moderator fitted. Did say i wasnt putting a write up, but what the hell, now i will be bombarded with questions relating to the deer stalking trick. HERE GOES.... When out stalking Roe Deer, and your target is to far away, with no way of getting closer without being spotted,if you have a moderator on your rifle, fire a shot well above its head (if safe to do so), the deer will hear the bang from behind it as the bullet passes over it, this in turn will make it think the noise is from behind it, thus making it run forward towards you, bringing it closer for you to shoot, hence why a few years back they were not keen to give out Moderators with Full Bore applications, but Health and safety regulations put a stop to them not being issued.
