Flamin'Nora! 50 Posted July 26, 2010 Report Share Posted July 26, 2010 1st season is the warm up, 2nd is where they hone their technique and prove themselves on different quarry so the best years IMO are 3-6 provided they dont get any serious injuries, most dogs that are worked hard start to wane around the 7/8 year mark, speed can start to go a bit but a clever dog will still catch a lot of stuff using its brain and the experience gained during those years. 1 Quote Link to post

Guest deerhound hunter Posted July 27, 2010 Report Share Posted July 27, 2010 when would you say your dog is complete ,when it has had how many season ,the bundies of game has caught,vary if prey,just what would make your complete dog,just my bitch is nealy 6 and i,ve work her every season hard and she done every thing and any think ,shes had no major injurys and i was wondering if had the complete dog yet or can it better ,because it has done so proud ,and is 1 of the best bitches i,ve seen round my way.
