THE GRIFF 8
I know it was a bit naughty, but I couldn't wait any longer to get out with the ferrets. Set off at 6 yesterday morning with 4 ferrets and some nets. When we got there we could see dozens of rabbits in the field and spotted a set with 63 holes. We netted the holes and off we went, there was quite a few baby ones got through the nets but we still managed to get 9 decent ones in the bag. The ferrets did get a couple of kills down to hole as the day went on and I presume these were babies, but the ferrets all came back out of the holes eventualy. Apart from not being able to wait any longer to go out with the ferrets, we also wanted to keep the farmer happy and keep him sweet for the season ahead by showing our faces and getting rid of a few rabbits for him. All in all it was a good day, I enjoyed it, the ferrets enjoyed it and I came home with 15 rabbits for the freezer to keep the ferrets going for a while untill the season starts properly. THE GRIFF 8
Make sure you. Check them over good for fleas and ticks Already have, my snipped hob got a tick a couple of weeks ago, don't have a clue where it came from, he never goes ferreting and wont eat rabbits or raw meat only dry food, so I check them all daily now. Thanks anyway for the advice. Quote Link to post

I only had 2 left in the freezer, I new I was running out a couple of weeks ago so have been giving them pigeons and crows inbetween the rabbits to make the rabbits last a bit longer. The ferrets enjoyed as much as I did. Gonna see if I can get a few more bunnies tonight with the air rifle, our lass will be going mad if I put anything else in the freezers, you can hardley shut the lid, might have to overflow into the other freezer(that will go down well!!!)
