I regard most of the choices so far as modern films Anyhoo..some of my faves are; The Searchers. Mostly i think, because John Wayne really stepped outside his stereotyping to play someone with few, if any, redeeming features. And he was so believable in the role. Some Like It Hot Because Marilyn Monroe was just incandescent. The 39 Steps With Robert Donat. It was classic Hitchcock; intrigue, suspense, excitement and his slyly incongruous wit. Top stuff. BTW, someone mentioned No Country For Old Men earlier. It's right up there in my all time faves too. I love Cohen brothers films, but this one stands out.
