aggresive jill

just got a nice silver hob and jill ferret from a mate,put the hob in a hutch by himself no problem,tried jill in with unrelated jill, promptly proceeeded to try and kill it,had it pinned in nest box, released scent glands and really wild,the jill is about ayear old,gave the jill to another mate had same trouble,personally never seen or had this problem with jills before,any ideas as to why.

Slow introductions on neutral ground is the way to go..

 

Think of it from both sides, your jill in hutch ( feels threatened ) new jill thrown in ( attack or be attacked ) its a natural ferret response,

i have had a few that do this, as above slow and steady intros.

is it the new bitch doing the attacking or the bitch you already have, i would say same as grompz, ihave never had strange bitch ferrets try and kill each other before on interduction to each other a little squabble but nothing major

Let them see each other smell each other threw the wire before suddenly putting them together ,Are they fighting tooth and nail ? .or just trying to settle there place in the ranking order ?
