dont care what anyone says you got to do a bit through summer keep the dogs ticking over ....my dogs are hyper if they arnt doing what they are bred for ...if any of you lads who keep running dogs say

It must be different down south than up here. It would be pretty difficult to lamp in grass or crops up to your knees. I would imagine that a farmer would be less than pleased with someone skipping

give the quarry that gave you so much sport a rest in the summer,ok a few here and thier whilst excersising yes,how can a dog get on in the lamp with all those cracks in the ground, high corn, cows out,

What gives half of the right to tell people not to hunt in summer...are you special..have you got first dibs at quarry in winter...summer hunting has always happened and will continue to do so...get over it..theres worse things going on out there than this...atb stabba

It's all of the excuses that get me - 'it's pest control' - o aye 6 rabbits - what a f*****g result, bet that saved the farmers grass. 'I'll lose my permission' - your poaching any way you twat and if not you obviously did a piss poor job over winter. 'I've gotta keep the dogs fit' - give em a break, if they don't need one, you obviously aint trying hard enough in winter.

All of it boils down to - i'm bored and have no self control.

COCK MUNCHERS.

would you say all that to fence hoppers face jai :hmm: :hmm: :hmm: i think not

Are you a little confused? How was that in any way aimed at Fence Hopper??? I'm agreeing with him. And also if i did think ill of fence hopper and he was standing here of course i would say it to his (or anyone elses) face.

sorry can see i read it wrong i thought you calling him a twat :icon_redface: you do come across like your above everyone else though sometimes and i do think its because your behind the keyboard thats what i meant by saying it to his face might be wrong but i doubt it

This is something that needs clearing up - just because we all hunt with dogs does not mean we are all the same, on the same side or of 'one kind'.

its crazy run dogs all year round there othere ways to get them fit theres just no respect for the sport no more no wonder its all to pot how would you like to be run all year round just for the sake of it some people its a joke really but thats my own apion on it no wonder half the dogs are treated with no respect at all to the twats that run them to the ground shame on you mlb

well said ! what ever happened to respect for the quarry???

even if i wanted to lamp or run my dogs durin the summer i couldnt. The ground is too hard for my feet not to mind the dogs. Some people must not think alot about their dogs if they are runnin them on ground like concrete.Fair enough if your taking a pup out for one or two handy runs to bring him on if we get a few days of solid rain .Iv seen lads run their dogs on handy cubs in summer months and they think their dogs are the next best thing to a slice pan. When the winter comes they cant understand then why their dogs takes a bashing off a proper mature adult dog fox

Look mate, it aint no f*****g high horse, my only point is just cos me and some other bloke both hunt with dogs doesn't mean we are part of some sacred brother hood and are bonded through eternity to support each other blindly - its not the f*****g masons. I didn't say 'you are all inferior to me' or 'i'm better than you', i just hate all this 'come on guys we are all one' bullshit - there are some folk on here i have massive respect for when it comes to their dogs and how they work them and some i have respect for as people and then there are a whole load that i have little respect for in any sense - and this doesn't make them inferior to me in anyway - it just means i don't like what they do and don't respect them for doing it. Is that ok with you?

As for coming across like i think i'm above everyone else - that's just because i'm a miserable c**t sometimes. As for the 'being behind a keyboard' thing, aye i might be more polite to someones face but the sentiment would remain the same, and the added politeness would have f**k all to do with any fear of violence, but rather that i wouldn't want to see the tears in their eyes.

I love you really stewie! :tongue2:

Whatever anyone says each to their own..... Most of the ground we run is keepered & there's plenty of lads poaching therefore it's a case of getting there first. We used to make a point of lamping foxes early on so it would make it more difficult for the wankers with the rifles. Yes, they were more difficult to catch but we didn't mind putting the time in while the lazy riflemen would only lamp from the roadside in their 4x4's. They would leave the foxes where they dropped them. the fact is most of us dog folk have broken the law at some point or another, maybe intentionally, maybe not. But for the same people to judge others doesn't make you a decent hunter, it makes you a f*****g hypocrite

alistair you half wit tell that to the farmer who has lodst thirty to fifty acres i dont think he bothers pregnant young or other wise they need controling end off now run along tp your make belief world, in certain places they are big pests and if not kept a check on can get out of hand, we dont farm rabbs we grow crops and farm sheep cows a few rabbs is fine but not plagues you diolon

:laugh::laugh::laugh:

well said whin

hey mate you sound like a right salmon, yes understand if they are plagues of them,im out non stop in the winter so crop loss isnt to sadcome harvest,im talking about running a lurcher in summer its unproductive, ive lost dogs in the summer due to injurys.and if you want to call me playground names fella spell them right it sounds better.to lose 50 acres of crop u must be making a shit job in the winter.

I dont know what the cycle of life round your way is like .During the winter round licolnshire although rabbits sometimes breed its not in the same numbers as in sping and summer which round this way coincides with the planting of veg crops .The new growth of crops causes an explosion of the rabbit population.Unless you completely wipe out the rabbits in the winter this population explosion is inevitable .If left untill the winter the damage this ever increasing population of rabbits causes would run into hundreds of thousands of pounds and loss of permision. The only conclusion I can come to is the people who slag of year round hunters dont have a clue .As for not being real dog men any permision round this way left untill winter would soon be lost to some one who knows what they are doing. The farmer doesn,t give a shit if young or pregnant are killed I can only presume that rabbit numbers on some of your permisions cost little or nothing to the land owner.Dogs are no more likley to get injured lamping summer grass or veg than winter the fact that they are catching youngsters and out of condition animals means less stress and effort on the dog so less injuries just my opinion based on 30 years of facts

Wise words mate, maybe in this day & age they don't need to be confined to the kitchen but at least go shopping or somewhere with the kids. Imagine having to take the missus lamping with you  Mind there's a couple on here I'd like to take out lamping, just so I could empty my sack when I felt like it :D
