warbiscuit 0
Hi fellas, Been a while I guess... Back from Afghan in one piece though Anyway, down to business. I have been rudely awakened (rather early may I add) from my slumber several times this week.... Magpies seem to be the problem, caught them this morning doing what I can only describe as trying to strip the flashing (Lead) from around my velux windows!!! Well now its a right mess, all peeled up and half hanging off. I can repair it, but first I want to cure the problem Whats the best method of ambushing these beggers? Bait? I've tried sneaking up, but the patio doors are a bit of a give away, and my back garden doesn't lend itself to an elevated shot to the roof very well. I can bust them in my tree no problem, its just the roof I'm struggling with. And i'm not repairing the lead until they've been seen off I need some sleep, and so does her ladyship inside. Any tips would be much appreciated in this sleep deprived time. DT Quote Link to post

Bait the garden and wait. If that fail's......you need to buy her Ladyship and you a new house Good luck mate. Bill. Quote Link to post
Aaron_butcher 17
Broken raw eggs on the lawn or a bunny with his guts hanging out, that should bring them in. Depending on the scale of your problem you could get a larson trap. Aaron Quote Link to post

Gonna to wait until it dries and see how many more layers it needs to firm it up a bit. I'll post some pics shortly. Daz. Quote Link to post

olim 28
try baiting them up using peanut butter on tin foil, i tried to get squirrels this way but got a lot of magpies feeding from it, if shooting is hard you could try to trap them by using a box proped up half off the floor with a stick attached to a long piece of string, so when the bird goes under the box feeding you pull the string and the box falls on them, very simple if it makes sense. good luck oli Quote Link to post

Bumb I know (in my opinion) but the law is the law and we have to abide by it Phantom Quote Link to post
