Ashover rabbit dogs 76 Posted July 24, 2010 Report Share Posted July 24, 2010 iv had to use the jab twice before on differant bitches the first time the jab didnt work properly and 1 pup was born (stillborn) the second time it worked to stop the conception but the bitch was abit ill for a couple of days after. i dont use dog sitters anymore!! it cost me £15 per course of 2 injections and the bitches weighed about 7.69kg. atb mrs A.R.D Quote Link to post Share on other sites
Brainless 0 Posted July 26, 2010 Report Share Posted July 26, 2010 (edited) The newest jab 'Alizin' works very well and can be used up to 40 days after mating, in fact it works better later than straight after the mis-mating. So a bitch can be palpated and or scanned and then treated with this. What they used to use would usually interrupt the hormone cycle and hopefully prevent ovulation and the maturation of the eggs. I too have known peoples bitches produce pups, and or dead pups.
