right lads and lasses av nottised one ov my ferrets has started getting a build up ov wax in her ear do you have any advise for me?shall i clean,is there drops out there or is it note to worried about or am i just being puffy wuffy lol

just give it a clean , and if it gets really bad see the vet, but if you keep it clean it should be ok

My albino hob has quite alot of wax in his ears, when he was at the vets getting snipped a couple of months ago I asked the vet about it, she told me this was normal for alot of ferrets and not to worry about it. The vet that I dealt with keeps ferrets herself and I have 100% confidence in her advise, although it is difficult to define exactly how waxy your ferrets ears are compared to mine.

Leave them alone your ears have wax for a reason the only time i ever saw a ferret getting its ears cleaned was at a show

if what your seeing is horrible dark brown grungey stuff then it may be ear mites if its accompanied by scratching at the ears

 

if its just the odd speck of wax then thats normal

If your gunna do it wipe them with a baby wipe ear mites are common in ferrets.
