STUNTMAN 552
I’m interested in others opinions on here what they consider successful breeding or a successful litter. What percentage of pups out of a litter that made the cut would you consider a litter worth repeating? Half? If you got let’s say 1 out of 5 that was a rock star would you repeat that again? Lets here it, I don’t think there is a wrong answer as its personal opinion really. Quote Link to post

If you're just doing the breeding to get the one rock star to use yourself, that's fine; but a true breeder breeds to develop/preserve a good, consistent bloodline. just my two cents Quote Link to post
CarraghsGem 92
whenever ive bred a litter of border collies out of my own working bitch ive usually ended up with 1 exceptionally intelligent pup "pick" often making a very good trialing quality 3-5 good workable pups, 1-2 pet quality pups. however its different in every breed. start with a good sound working bitch;- if the bitch isnt near your ideal as a worker and a good example of the breed its simple;- dont breed, always look to improve on what you already have. 1 Quote Link to post
