stealthy1 3,964
While I was driving past the garden center today to take the dog for a quick burst at some rabbits, I noticed, rabbits , rabbits under the hedge at the opposite end of the gateway, brakes on, reversed back to the gate, into the garden center, pulled up next to the owner and his wife, gave him the nod, he gave me a wink, and that was it, a bit more work for the evening. Arived at the center at five, as thats the time they're meant to close, and found a few people milling around, so I had a mill around too Half a hour later they left. A quick hello, how's your father, and some muttering about rabbits, and it was game on Clad myself in DPM, loaded the rifle, turned around to see one bunny gagging for a halo, so I gave it one One up. A slow stalk to where I wanted to snipe a few from added another four to my tally, five up. Got sat down, quick swally of water, and a lay and wait. I was mesmerised by a weazle working his plan, in a hole, chased out by a buck, run around in a circle to try to get the edge on the buck, but the buck was not wearing it, I nearly whacked the buck, but I wanted to see if the weasle could take it down on its own But in the end it gave up and disapeared through and old peice of green triweld fencing. From the same warren popped a small kit, WHACK! and it did the usual roley poley, 6 up. The pattern for the evening seemed to be a rabbit whacked every half a hour, so by the time I decided to pack up I had whacked 10. Then quick as a flash, the weasle kidnapped the small kit and took off with it in its jaws, it was jogging its way towards the green mesh, this I have got to see, the kit was bigger than the two inch mesh, so I did'nt fancy his chances of pulling it through, but I'll give him his due, he did pull it through, it was a struggle, but he deserved the kit, if he had'nt have pulled it through the fence I was going to nick it back So the end of day pic is a group shot of nine, taken on my patio, because I forgot to take the camera And the Mrs had a right moan about the blood and guts splashed all over the slabs, the dogs mopped up most of it, and I gave it a quick splatter with the hose pipe, so thats it, a nice evening on the rabbits, and this is the end of day shot. atb stealthy. 6 Quote Link to post
