I use this E-tool it has its draw backs but is much better than the camp shovels you find in the the sporting good stores and I have put it through the ringer and it has held up. for 20.00 bucks can't go wrong.

Rabbit hunters advise is sound, just throw it in the bushes and run with out it. The last thing you want to be doing when poaching is ending up digging 4 foot with a small fold up spade. You will be there all night. You want to be in and out as quickly as possible ;)

get some fecking permission :11: :11:

then buy a decent spade :)

i have a steel ditching spade, with a steel shaft ...i also have a folding spade, but it is a heavier duty type than the 3 piece metal jobs, its a german folding spade with a short wooden handle and a pick on the back of the spade...it's under my car seat, and comes in handy for emergencies and road rage events :11:

I wasnt trying to compare my fold up spade to a bulldog or other quality spade. the e-tool that I got is a lot better quality than your typical fold up camping shovel it has a heavier blade, and clears dirt out of a deep hole fairly easy, many a fox hole and trenches were dug with one of these and if the person who is using it can use a little common sence im sure he could make some use of it. Just have to be smarter than the tool your using. no doubt there are way better spades to use... but if it takes you all night to dig a four foot deep hole with a us army e -tool. I dont think you have any buisness putting a ferret in a hole, and I seriously doubt you would do any better with a quality spade, but hey... no offence taken. but back to the guy who was asking about a decent spade that would fold up and fit in a bag.... the us army e-tool is not a bad fold up spade and I doubt there is something its size that is any better.

Im sure it will work as well as anything cheap enough to throw in the bushes and leave behind, and for 20.00 bucks at a surplus store Id say you could leave this in the bushes if you had to.
