kurtrog70 6
Hi there, i got a little jill kit yesterday to go with my one year old hob. their both in seperate cages. But everytime i put them together for a little while he sniffs her then latches on to her neck, is this normal because of the time of year? also evertime the kit sees the hob she starts squeeling, is this normal? Thanks Kurt Quote Link to post
theferreter 311
your male ferret is still in breeding mode wait untill hes outa season before you put your jill in with him Quote Link to post
The one 8,463
Aye you will need to wait till his testes retract before you put them together ,You will need to wait till about them anyway as i would imagine your jills going to be a lot smaller Quote Link to post
stubby 175
dont you just admire people that read up on a subject before getting a live animal and putting through uneccessary distress, oh no, sorry, your doing it the other way around Quote Link to post
kurtrog70 6
Dont you love it when you have someone asking for a little advice and someone comes back with a sarcy useless answer! as per usual. as it happens i had some idea, hence the fact iv kept them both seperate from eachother, (seperate hutches) as stated!!. just wanted someone with a higher knowledge than me to say their bit! This site will soon be pointless for novices to put a query for others to shed their experiences to help others! cheers for useless help stubby! probly delete this post anyway ATB kurt Quote Link to post
jac 12
i got a hob kit and he gets on fine with my jill, but not my hob. my hob is done so i thought he would be ok with a kit but hes not. i am going to wait till my kit is the same size as him so he can give as good as he gets. maybe hobs are less kit friendly than jills. kurtrog70 6
Thanks for that mate. Going to do the same, wait until she bulks up then put them together. Thanks Atb Kurt Edited July 20, 2010 by kurtrog70 Quote Link to post
stubby 175
surely common sense would have told you mate, without having to ask, I mean, boy plus girl plus breeding season, Im quite happy to help, but when we get questions that appear as though the poster has no idea of whats happening with a LIVE ANIMAL , makes me see red, I may be a pest controller, but it dont mean I like seeing animals suffer, and your post, sounded as though this young jill would end up in that situation and its not a point of waiting till she "bulks out" just wait for the breeding season to end and his balls to re tract, Quote Link to post
longnetter 32
You always get that kind of stuff kurtrog70, take no notice..........remember, ask a stupid question and look stupid for five minutes or don't ask a stupid question and remain stupid for the rest of your life just keep asking mate and ignore those that didn't ATB Quote Link to post

kurtrog70 6
Thanks for replying stubby, perhaps i should of worded my post a little differently, as i would never put a LIVE ANIMAL under any unnessary stress. Hi longnetter thanks for your reply also. =] I live in cwmaman which is a little village in the s wales valleys, Cwmavon is around 50 minutes away from me. ATB Kurt Quote Link to post
