Hannah4181 260
Judge is the dog in that video typical of the breed?? Alot of the ones i saw in SA were much leggier and a leaner looking mastiff . . . . no where near as thick set as that animal. no hannah you wont see a SAB like those on a working farm in southen africa. look at these pics of a real boerboel: http://www.terraworld.net/dkhfarms/tigg1.jpg http://www.terraworld.net/dkhfarms/air%20Tig%202.JPG http://www.terraworld.net/dkhfarms/Bull.JPG Thats more like it, and in some cases they had a lot more leg on them too . . . . serious looking dogs! FightTheBan 1,147
If all you want is a monster to guard your property at all costs they are top drawer. But don't let anyone tell you they 'make great pets...great family dogs...loyal' bla bla bla. They are not to be trusted and can be volatile IMO. FTB

FTB not a very good type of SAB that pal. the ones i had we're great with kids but very protective which could in itself become a very dangerous sitution. I have the agree with FTB these dogs are not needed in this country. we would only spoil the breed anyway.

I shudder to think.

I shudder to think. the dog in the pic was exported to the USA, the farmers son and i were friends in south africa i went back to the uk he went home to us. the farmer use to have white mountain dogs as livestock guardian dogs but coyotes and bears were still taking the odd sheep, so he imported a boerboel from a friend of mine and the predators have kept away apart from a couple of unlucky coyotes.
