neil cooney 10,416
A good friend of mine has whats considered the best specimen outside of SA. They are a very intimidating dog and take strong, stern handling. Boerbole means "farmers bulldog" as far as I know.
Hannah4181 260
They are magnificent dogs if fit, whilst living in SA i saw hundreds, most houses or yards had half a dozen for guarding. They all swore by them and put them higher on the list of effective guards than any other breed. As has been suggested above, they are not an easy dog and need a high degree of understanding and training to ensure you end up with an effective animal not a liability. judge2010 196
no way they cost about £1500 would take a few years to save up their jobseekers for that.
Simoman 110
I hope these are not the next dog of choice for the chavs Probably, the chavs have managed to find the money for American Bulldogs/Presas/bulls etc so £1,500 for one of these will be no problem.... judge2010 196
god i hope not!!! that could prove deadly alongside a good fila brasiano these dogs would\have killed people before. Finding a good breeder in europe is hard to do they all breed for show types. If anyone wants one i could put you in contact with somebody who breeds them for their working ability. proven dogs done the business when it comes to guarding homes\livestock from two legged predators to four legged predators. bird 10,014
what you will get with these dogs (HD, not long lived, eye probs).I had bullmastiffs years ago, and same probs in this breed. All they are is a fitter version bullmastiff, most large breeds have health probs today, and not just show stuff.? There are other guard breeds, which are more healthy than above, GSD from proper working lines for one, and if you have to pay that money altleast you will get healthy dog. I came out of the big breeds for this reason .?
