Ideation 8,216
Poachers worst enemy is a turncoat a poacher who as gone to the other side very untrustworthy you are either one or the other in my book as a few poachers who turned gamekeepers i know of turned into right twats overnight. What about game keepers turned poacher - have you ever experienced this? I have experience of a part time keeper / part time poacher - different attitudes to different folks land. Odd one that. Funny enough ideation no i havent but a few mates who i know who went gamekeeping one years ago shot and killed a man poaching pheasents on his estate and their was nobody worse than him for poaching birds and another mate who got a job on a big estate up scotland once phoned me up to tell me he had shot a poachers dog some thing [bANNED TEXT] he hunted with me if that had ever happend he would have made the keepers life a misery .Though he did run off with the lady of the manor on the same estate funny as i was the best man for him [bANNED TEXT] he married his first wife.If you ever want to see some poachers change their veiws on things in hours offer them permision as some become the biggest arse lickers you could imagine [bANNED TEXT] all of a sudden they dont have to poach any more.atb dell
hily 379
Not a weapon but an aid thats the soft idea that a poacher is just an old rascal who is out for somthing for the pot or beer money and the only one who gets shafted is the rich toff who owns the land .We all know that in the real world that a poacher is ------ Dear reader you can fill in the blank space

akton 15
I would have to say the longnet its the most quickest silent discreet way of catching any number of rabbits,I have ever seen This longnet in the right hands is deadly. I would put the snare as second best its silent, camoflaged and discrete, if set by experiened poachers. and thirdly a good lurcher with a good nose and an experienced dogman. Having poached, using all the above methods over a number of years and on land were I knew was keepered and watched intently by underkeepers and its village idiots,I have never been caught ,although I have nearly and almost had the near miss a few times. In this day and age of night vision, mobile phones and the enviroment agency gill netting is almost gone there might be a few having ago but not as many as there was years gone by. A rod a reel and some lures or flies on the salmon run is all I need,I dont sell any game or fish I have caught,I tend to put it on the table to enjoy it for its worth. great subject and an enjoyment to add my opinion to it

To shoot any dog other than one that is genuinely worrying stock is a disgusting crime.
