went for a stroll with my jack russell and my mate who had his collie/greyhound( hancock dog). Terrier was bushing rabbits through the edges out for the lurcher. On the opposite field is a childrens farm were they keep a range of animals. I kept walking up the field and shouted the terrier but he didnt return , next thing i hear a a loud sqealing noise. I ran into the field to find my dog grappling with a huge pig which was trampling the f#ck outta the terrier. After a minute or so he let go only to latch onto its lower lip causing the pig to start bleeding. i eventually managed to rip him off it and had to apologize to the farmer and pay a vet bill. The terrier is a big , strong looking russell and will kill anything but is ok with other farm animals like sheep , cows and horses. Any ideas as to why he attacked the pig?

if the dogs never seen pigs before it might of just reacted like that mate? i always think you can never trust a dog with any farm animal though 100%

if you cannot trust a dog with farm animals then its the the fault of the owner.if my dogs were not 100% stock broken then i would not have any permission.as it is i can go anywhere for miles and trust my dogs.got a 15 week old pup here and is totally stock broken already.

i have a few terriers, one of my bitches is 100% stock broke as all are by adult age, this particular bitch is very quiet until she sees or smells a pig, twice ive seperated her from pigs. now i just dont take chances shes on the couplings, strange, but i cant break her to them.
