Tiff 36
what in the heck does an equine dentist do? My vet always floated my horses teeth so I assume you do things other than floating? Quote Link to post
MuttleMcTuttle 21
There are several horse dentists in this area. They do floating, tooth removal and stuff like that. I usually get the vet in to do mine because one little git of a pony needs sedating before you can rasp her teeth anyway. A lot of vets aren't too keen on doing it and will often get the dentist in to do tooth pulling etc. My vet reckons it's quite a satisfying job because the horses look so much happier after they've had their teeth done (if they were bad to start with) and pick up condition straight away Quote Link to post
baleoutqueen 1
IME, not every horse is lucky enough to have an owner who is concerned about their teeth and many suffer in silence. These lovely animals do so much for us, the least we could do is get them checked twice a year. historically I have used a specialist EDT, but he has not been well recently, and has recommended a vet that is also greeat with teeth, as not all vets are. My orse all go better when they are happy in their mouths. Quote Link to post
