had two hancock lurchers few years ago and both were very good dogs, both dogs worked day and night

both border crosses,1 merle only one ive seen with both wall/white eyes andthe other a fawn dog and both dogs were worked 3/4 times a week on rhf and bambi ( pre ban ). both dogs took a lot of stuff

Obedient, very intelligent, very fast, plenty of stamina but liked company on the red ones, otherwise as good as you'd want.This is from actually owning a Hancock dog not on hearsay.

Had a black bitch from Rufus the red and a black greyhound called Nell, possibly same litter a brilliant all round wee dog, killed foxes with a passion. Born 1992.

I also had a red merle bitch from hancock dogs dont know which as a mate got 2 unrelated and had his own litter dad was beardie x and mam was border x she was wicked on rabbits and hares this was a long time ago but not to keen on charlie she was quite small at 22tts but had bags of stamina and very intelligent excelled if doubled up on hare she would sit in 2nd place til the time was right then kick it up a gear go straight by the other dog and make the catch she could jump deer fencing from a standing start has been my best dog to date. her son is the dog in my avatar hes getting there.

Why call them hancock dogs their collie hybred lurchers that any body whos been around lurchers knows the cross can make a good versatile lurcher in the right hands just because a puppy pedlar decided to latch on to this cross i dont think it gives him the right imho to atach his name to this type of lurcher even though he has bred it.

The same could be said of Plumber terriers I suppose, how many pups did he breed ?? I suppose they are called Hancock lurchers because he bred them, quite a lot perhaps, but breed them he did, for a long time.

Hi, mate i went to look at his dogs six weeks ago, i was less than impressed , dont get me wrong i have seen some of his dog work in the past and i will say they were very good, but common sense should tell u dont buy a dog if its dam \ sire have never worked, its not so important from the greyhound side i admit, but i like to see a good working sheep dog cover them, then at least you know the sire is trainable and from workers,the flip side of his dogs are at least you know that the cross's are what he says they are, he told me that the only time his stud dogs leave the kennels is when they serve, thats not a nice life no walks or exercise, plus i found that when entering his kennels the pups were very stand off ish and shy, hes a nice bloke and i understand its how he makes a living but he could treat his dogs better, this aside i could not risk a shy puppy from none workers, i wanted a 1st cross boarder but chose to breed them myself. hope this helps

Notice all the good dogs were owned 'years ago'. If you are set on a collie cross then use a good fast tough hill collie and a good working grey. People shouldn't buy pups off him just supports a puppy farm that treats it's dogs crap.
