wild falcons in liverpool city centre??

i was out kayaking on the docks last night and as we getting ready to get on the water a dark falcon flew over our heads withe a small bird in its talons, it was being chased by 2 seagulls.

 

just wondered if anyone had any ideas it was too big to be a kestrel wich made me think peregrine?

i know they can live in city environments can anyone shed any light for me?

peregrines mate a pair live on the water front i have seen them by the airport a few times

it will defo be the local peregrine i used to work at eli lily in speke and a female used to roost of a morning on a heating duct about ft up. i have seen the teircel (male) over by the bombed out church twice in a week when i was working in town. keep a look out been told they are on the heritage market building
