Sweeney-Todd 208
Hi Si. Same as Davy, excellent post, and terrific shooting by you both. That video footage was first class, I like the page turning effect, very proffessional mate You have certainly shown how good the HW 97KT can be in the right hands. NEW S400 .....you need to get a check up Si.....look's like you may be getting a touch of SHAYITOUS ......talking of which....he's gone quiet....hope he is ok? Excellent meet and shoot.....have a well earned slut mate. ATB. Bill. Quote Link to post
davyt63 1,845
Hi lads, Ive got to say a huge thank you again to Davy for yet again giving me the real VIP treatment on yet another brilliant 10 acre permission . I really enjoyed myself, and its so nice to help Davy out by breaking his personal best in regards to shooting bunnies in one session . For me to shoot 18 bunnies and a hare was a real treat. Davy has actually toned his side of the post down considerably, but I would like to add on his behalf that he managed a shot in the day time that knocks the hell out of my personal best ever long shot by 10 metres . Im not going to post the exact range as some people get upset as previously stated in other posts of mine, but suffice to say it was an extreme shot . He also took many 40 plus metre shots either from the standing or kneeling position in the night time when I was lamping with him . This kind of skill needs to be worked at over many hours, days and weeks to perfect it like Davy has done. Hes a credit to this forum section and an inspiration to us all . I did change to the .22 r10 for the 2 hours of lamping that we did Jack but only managed 1 more bunny mate. Davy was killing them faster than i could follow him so I never had time to shoot many more . It just goes to show that a PCP isnt always your answer to a massive bag when lamping rabbits. I think that the Weihrauch HW97KT springer produced some lovely kills in the day time and would have also still got the 1 rabbit i shot at 25 metres at night. I found it very difficult to guestimate the range to the bunnies at night with the .22 and must of missed either 2 or 3 bunnies either over the top or under their chins mate . That problem has just been solved though buddy as I pick up my brand new Air Arms S400 in .177 tomorrow morning which Im going to fit a nice Nikko Stirling low magnification variable power scope to and a Hawke laser to use as my range finder The .177 should make the error in range at night a lot more forgiving. Here is some of the footage that I shot from my static position and from a bit of leopard crawling. Si hi si some great shooting & footage there buddy, and a great time i had! and thank you for your kind comments, the distance on the long range bunny will be revealed next week end it was good to finnally spend some decent time together shooting and will defo do it again! and Si you certainly are deadly with the HW97 buddy good luck with the rest of the footage for ya DVD and you know where to come if ya need any more! glad to here ya have a AAS400 they are a joy to shoot, no need to say very accurate ,because me tinks you could pick up any air rifle and put others to shame! A PLEASURE TO SHOOT WITH !!!!!! PS a credit to this forum top work lads, i told you that you'd have a blast didnt i?!! sp for the bag and joint write up as it were, great pictures too lads. si, you havent got time to be writing posts and editing great video footage- get your arse down thisaway!!! i'm not impatient at all seriously tho, well done lads cheers, wurz hi wurz not long now! buddy and thanks for the SPA regards davy 1 Quote Link to post

I was thinking about you yesterday wondering why we haven't heard from you for a long time. Phantom Bless you Phantom! I often think about you knocking around the cemetery sniping diseased bunnies! Davey pulling of the long shots and Zini with his 'clinical' catchphrase! All with an admixture of envy, admiration and respect! I've been good mate thanks, i've been distracted with work - i went into business with a friend of mind a while back and we've been chocker! That coupled with the fact i have no permission causes my interest to ebb and flow really. I have a few weeks off work, which i have dedicated to my new strategy of gaining permission; sending a bunch of farmers my business flyers and make first contact as a plumber, initially and then ask about permission once they've met and chatted to me a bit. What do you think? How have you been mate? Tris Quote Link to post
