G'day All,

Just found your site, very interesting. I am a Pest Animal and Weeds officer in the Torres Strait, which is the group of tropical islands (120, 17 occupied) between Cape york the tip of australia all the way to Papua New Guinea. We have feral pigs, dogs, cats, Rusa deer, crocs, rats, snakes, invasive fish that walk on land, as many weeds as you can name and insects that bite, sting and try to eat you. I have always been a firearm man, my family where "doggers" trapping and hunting feral dogs and dingo's for fee's. The communities up here have issues with firearms so I want to try bow hunting. I am open to any suggestion from members regarding the methods, type of bow or crossbow and good reputable web sites to introduce me to the bow. I enjoy stalking. We have island of various sizes from a mile across to as big as 320 square kilometers in size. The terrain is wet tropical jungle to high forest, grassy savanna and thick scrub, two seasons : wet up to 1575 mm of rain to the dry season as little as 190mm of rain, temperatures average 25 deg C to 35 deg C. No long pants or jumpers required, shorts and thongs (flip flops). Thanks for the chance to join.
