Treacle Trackpad 6
i have the above on my rimfire how do i go about cleaning it i read somewhere you can strip it down but i dont see how any help would greatly appreciated If it is an old one it will have an allen grub screw at each end, remove them and belt the inner out with a soft wood drift then bung it in the dish washer. If it is the newer one the 'out' end screws off, it has two flats that you can hold in a vice (loosely) and undo by hand. Then remove inner and bung in the dishwasher. If you don't have a dishwasher use an ultrasonic cleaner or elbow grease and washing up liquid (remember to wear your marigolds). Hope this helps. Quote Link to post
Night Hunter 109
Ive heard a quick spray with welders anti spatter spray on the baffles then letting them dry before reassembly cuts down the adhesion of debris in the future but Ive never tried it myself. Quote Link to post
Treacle Trackpad 6
Silicon spray does the job too Quote Link to post

JR Yipp 111
they say not to clean as they were getting a problem with people putting them back together badly, coming loose and the bullet hitting the inside rim of the exit hole and obviously causing damage, being unsafe and inaccurate...... they do get full of shit and do really need cleaning, the choice is yours. IanB 0
I've stripped my sak mod down a few times its fairly straight forward, also stripped the ASE utra down, same again straight forward enough with individual internal baffles compared to the saks fixed baffles system... There is a difference on the two mods when using them on a hmr, the ASE being noticably quieter, although you'll never get rid of that deadly crack!! I'll move this topic to the faq section, for anyone else cleaning a sak mod, once its finished. Quote Link to post
