ferret boxes;- can u get lightweight ones?

i find my own ferret box a bit too heavy for my liking;- its standard size (2 ferret compartments)

and has a good strap and is made of wood,

 

ive seen lads out + about with plastic tool boxes with straps attached and air-holes drilled into the sides.

 

anyone know of a factory made lightweight ferret box???

 

preferably in a darker colour- khaki would be nice............

There is a guy on here who makes them from plastic - they look pretty good - can't remember his name though. But the guy in the pinned terrier section who makes plastic terrier boxes could probably make them?

my first ferret box was plastic, two compartments and very decent strap, easy to clean just rinse under hose, had to keep an eye on the heat in summer but it was fantastic the only prob was it was white, i got it off ebay and i'm sure you can buy some cammo tape that you'd easily be able to stick on.

 

i now have a one compartment green wooden one, which is fine for one ferret but i find the strap isn't anywhere near as good as the plastic one was, i'm after getting another for next season - very comfy to walk all day with..

make one, just use 3/8th ply on sides and lid, and either 1/4 or 1/8th for back,front,bottom

I had a look at that bloke at ferret boxes profile he's in south Wales looks as tho he has a shop of some sort by the look of his posts

had a quick look at ebay for you, the only plastic one i found is a lot more posh then mine but it will give you an idea..

its more expensive, mine was a double and cost £15 and was white so you sould pop on some cammo tape if you wanted..
