ferret Breeding

hello people, i need some help. I would like to know the best age to start breeding a jill. And the best time of year to do this, any advice will help.

research books, internet, mags etc on ferret care as you should know something as basic as "when they come into season" if your keeping ferrets already

 

make sure the bedding and diet is correct as clearly your knowledge on their basic upkeep is low..

 

and certainly don't breed until you know more about the species

Ferrets are photoperiodic breeders and jills come into oustrus when the daylight hours increase, the vuvla is swollen and they need to be brought out of season via mating, although this can be done with a vasectomised hob. The best advice is only breed if you NEED more ferrtes and the jill you own is a good worker, there are far too many ferrets out there and breeding should be thought about more carefully IMO.............
