There's a storm on the horizon

And for that I can't see the sun

For I'll keep a waiting on the pavement

For the ice-cream van to come

Its die hard hate to follow

And I'll not follow that

The marching people running round my head

Running round my head I don't know why

Why can't we see

Straight through the powers that be

Who keep us breaking each others hearts

And keeping us apart, keeping us apart

Destroying the ground where gruesome lays

Sectarianism and the hurtful racist ways

Bring back the glory days

Active citizenship

And pure community

Freedom of faith

There's a storm on the horizon

Every now and again I sit and wonder how far the human race could advance itself if it all pulled together. Then I remind myself of the way it destroys itself over money, oil, religion, greed, pride,

well just cause you dont want them there, thats not to say others feel the same way as you do.

pretty obvious you know nothing about it then.

never fails to amaze me,that the same lads calling us bigots and secterian, are the 1st to post when there a thread about losing our identity to muslims and other illegals.we cant do this and cant do that cause it will offend the minoritys.we cant fly the union flag as it also offends people.yet an organisation loyal to queen and country are branded bigots and should be banned for exercising their rights in their own country.a predomanatly protestant country i might add.take away the hard core element that you will find in every organisation.ive had some great days at the parades over the years.good day out for the family plenty to do for the kids and its not all about secterisism.just some choose to brand it that.they fly the union flag with pride and commerate battles from a time our beliefs and way of life was threatened.but hey lets ban all the things that we did in the past and forget about our history in case it offends people.lets get rid of statues of churchill and cromwell cause after all they were just war mongers. :whistling: for the record i DO NOT HATE CATHOLICS but im proud of my past and it should be commerated in any way as long as its controlled and marshalled.

You have a very idealistic take on the orange order. No matter how you try to dress it up it is what it is an arciac outdated sectarian organisation that has no place in decent society. Love how you contradict yourself with your 1 st post. This whole gumph about being proud of your past is what exactly. This country may be predominately Protestant but it's not prodominately orange. Like I said if you feel the urge to march hire a stadium and keep yor bile to yourselves.

and are the people who go out and oppose these marches and throw petrol bombs etc etc are they not sectraian bigots as well

Absolutely!

As a former member of the Orange Order and still a congragational member of the Church of Scotland! who was born in Bridgeton and can truly call himself a "Brigton Boy" I've also been married to a Catholic lassie for over 30 years and have personally been the subject of bigotry and sectarionism from many different quarters!

I'm dismayed and sorry to say that in my personal experience the orange order can and is seen as bigoted and sectarian by a large section of people including protestants like myself, Its not the only organisation that is tainted with this bile many pro-catholic organisations can be perceived as the same?

I had the great privilege of being invited to Northern Ireland a few weeks ago! and had one of the best times of my life, I was welcomed by people of all faiths and religous convictions and will always have great memories of the province!

Were' all entitled to our cultural, historical and political histories but!! when do we decide to stop goading each other, is it before or after the goading causes the violence?

The people I met, all had one common bond and that was the love of the working dog and the mutual like of those caninine's trancended cultural, political and religous views!

I'm saddened that there has been trouble and hope it ends as quickly as it started? and Northern Irelands people get back to enjoying the peace and each other!

People who bang on about statues (Oliver Cromwell) and flags really need to study British history, and Scottish!! as well as Irelands past!

Where is there a public statue of Oliver Cromwell in Scotland?, comemorating the individual or his deeds, The Scots, Irish and English all see him in a different perspective

Can we now get back to what this forum is about!! "Working Dogs", respecting each other, and taking the piss when some-ones being a twat! without being to serious!!

Here's to the peace and friendship!!

Tom

well said tom there is enough things in life to make people sad without killing other people over religion
