not a chance round here far to many young still about and crops not been harvested and the grass fields to high and the grounds like rock july is far to early for me round here i remember wasting my t

as a rule, i start the 1st of september, but this year ive got a new pup ready to start so am gonna start once august gets hear,just a little and often, just to stack the odds slightly in the pups favour, as regards to permission, i like many on here have worked hard to get it and work even harder to keep it, so if the farmer says go, i go,coz if you dont theres always someone else will step in. i prefer not to simply because the ground is like concrete and its far too hot, as a rule if i have to go out in the off season i generally take either the .22 or the .223 depending on what needs done, the crops are starting to come down here, i work for a agricultural contractor thru the summer months so i get a good start as im on good terms with alot of farmers and generally in the right place at the right time, theres knobheads round here that have never stopped lamping and they use the "pest control" excuse, my reply to them is,"if you'd done a good job thru the winter there wouldnt be any need to go out in the summer",but this is what yer up against,they kill there own sport, but come winter there sitting in the pub coz its too fecking cold,theres nothing wrong in ticking over imo, but some folks take the pish

still far to warm to be runnig dogs yet even at night but each to there own

 

a few dogs, a few runs each, all from motor or very short walks until the heats gone, keep plenty of water near by, as someone else said just keeping them ticking over, and the mr farmer happy, ensures me a great season ahead, , :victory:
