davey&ace 1
whats the difference between a first cross saluki x grey and a saluki grey x saluki grey? wouldn`t they just have the same amount of each bread in them. Quote Link to post
Born Hunter 17,775
whats the difference between a first cross saluki x grey and a saluki grey x saluki grey? wouldn`t they just have the same amount of each bread in them. On paper yeh, in reality no. Remember each parent only passes on half their genetics, so in theory they could both pass on the greyhound halfs or the saluki halfs and end up with a very heavily saturated greyhound or saluki pup that on paper is still a 50/50 sal/grey. Tiff 36
I've got one (not an F1 to grey but a multiple salX father to a grey mother) and he has incredible feet and is crazy crazy fast. He does not have the saluki sensitivity, he can take a telling off or bollocking right along with the other dogs. But he does need the bonding and one on one time that JD mentions. Quote Link to post
fensaluki 35
No reason why your dog wont make a good en mate.I've known of quite a few bred this way or at least bred close to this way that have turned out to be realy good dogs. Like any other breeding mate you'll get good ens and bad ens but in my opinion its usualy down to th way its been fetched up and entered rather than the breeding that seals the deal. Best of luck with your pup fella and I hope it does all that you ask of it. ATB Quote Link to post
