Ah great, now I know what you mean I can explain :yes:

 

After a while; usually many years a break barrel may become loose with wear and tear.

The rifle barrel unit may also droop slightly for the same reason.

 

The big screw, will allow you to tighten the joint again and it will also put the barrel back into correct alignment.

The little screw at the side of that, is there just to prevent the main screw comming loose again.

now i no i was just cleaning all my rifles and thought what is it? does it have a meaning or is it just to make the gun look mechanical lol but thanks again much help you the man,
