The trick with dog breeding is to breed faults out if you start with a dog with a congenital fault things will get worse further down the line.

thats why he is taking it back to the breeder, he did want it to carry on a line he has i would'nd personly breed from a dog with a fault but thats just me . atb hs

What a retard, he shouldn't bother with working dogs.

I took 4 litters out of a top class working undershot bitch and she never produced an undershot pup but great workers. Her pups were often bred tightly again and never produced an undershot pup, nor their pups.

So 3 generation on without and undershot pup but many good workers?

and half the idiots on here would have returned her for "imperfection"? FFS

I'd be as concerned if she had one ear sticking up in the air.

Bryan.

the problem here lie's with. the breeder and the purchaser of the pup. the breeder should have known about the pups bite and expained this. :icon_redface: the buyer should have checked out the pup before purchasing it :icon_redface: what i dont understand is why it is now a big thing on the www. if the buyer is breeding a line and doesnt want to bring undershot mouths into the line. the answer is obviouse. so why the palava. i wouldnt use an undershot terrier unless it was a very special dog. and if it was i wouldnt hesitate. if i then produced a litter for whatever reason' i would make the buyer aware that the fault is in the makeup. if it showed or not. common sense' aint that common.

nice terriers liam :) would find room for a black n tan like the one in your pic.

CS your right, all i did was put this up to see what people think. To quote ken gould "if theres nothing bad going in,nothing bad will come out!" Me personally i would have checked the pup out from head to tail and if i would have found anything i wasn't happy with,i would just walk away.Years ago i travelled from nottingham to wales to pick up a little plummer x russell bitch, when i got there the little bitch was covered in mange and lice and i felt sorry for it so i took it!,worse mistake i ever made, and apart from that the bitch never went on to be a good worker, she jibbed on foxes and shyed away from rats,so i sold her on to a guy who wanted it for rabbiting.

are u serious mate putting the pup down becuase of that its not what it does in a ring wehat it works like in a field

me personally, ive told him to persevere with it,she could turn out right in the end,he was a little pissed off because he bought the bitch to carry on his line,he has at the moment a very nice red lakeland dog.

Hes going to carry on his line with a red lakeland dog and a patterdale bitch  And if hes going to be pissed off it should be at himself did he not look at the pup properly before he took it.

Sounds to me like he just wants to hunt rosettes and that he will more than likely want it to spit litters of pups out of it in a few year and would only be intrested in good looking pups
